INCLUS!VE

Ink Lounge's opening event, October 5 2007,  was called Local's Night and invited local print makers to exhibit their work. No fee to be involved and artists received 100% of sales. There's been an continued mix of events, exhibits, and markets over the years and narrowed down to some of my favorites! Swipe through the images to get a sense of the event!
Home. HOPE! Spring 2020
During the stay at home order I asked 25 artists to create an 8x10 image to reflect their experience. I screen printed 100 prints for each artist with 100% of sales going to the artists and the nonprofit who creates educational and economic opportunities for artists with disabilities.
$7,500 to local artists / $1,500 to Access Gallery
Souvenirs 2001-2009
I went to Paris with the idea of creating an exhibit of work. But after 3 weeks I concluded there wasn't anything I could do that hadn't already been done. So for my final few days I did tourist activities – and  out of nowhere a spark appeared that followed me around the world.
France / Italy / England / Belgium / China
S!GNS of the T!MES Fall 2020
For this exhibit I designed, screen printed, and fabricated twelve 6ft tall yard signs to create a sculpture garden and 200 standard size. 50% of sales benefited BLM5280 and Future Coalition. Nicky and I also completed the tests and received Voter Registration Drive certificates.
$750 to BLM5280 / $750 to Future Coalition
Summer Dog Barket Summer 2017
Out of all the events over the years this was probably my favorite. Running it as a mini-market wasn't overly complicated and we got to partner with MaxFund which is where Squeegee came from. Best part was so many pups attended and we had a Pooch Lounge!
$550 to MaxFund Animal Adoption Center
Sketchy Exhibit Fall 2015
Life can be overwhelming so robots tend to be what I sketch when taking a break. I also use as creative examples when working with kids. For example if you draw a dog there are certain expectations: ears, snout, wagging tail, drooling tongue, 4 legs, etc. But with robots – anything goes!

UTAH Spring 2021
July 2006 my oldest sister purchased a gun from a pawn shop and shot and killed her husband. August 2006 my brother and I drove to Utah with our mother to help gather items from the property that needed to be put in storage or saved for her children. This exhibit was a collage of my B&W photos created by overlapping screen prints. The purpose was not to confirm innocence or guilt, instead to provide a glimpse of the emotions and environment from the tragedy.

Mix & Assemble Spring 2010
I reached out to poster artists around the country to donate a screen printed poster for an auction to raise money to run a summer workshop series for Urban Peak, a homeless youth shelter. It went great and we were able to run 2 workshops for the UMS and one with the Flobots!
Summer workshop continued from 2010-2012
Little Trip Around Ireland Fall 2011
Nicky and I planned a trip to Ireland that included renting a car and driving around the entire country. So before we left I gathered up a bunch of my little friends to take along to do a new twist on the Souvenir photos from previous trips. Here's some of my favourites.
Dublin / Waterford / Cork / Killarney / Giant's Causeway / Derry / and more...
It's Not Black & White Summer 2021
For this one day exhibit I secured 3 curators and we did a call for entry where the artist's entry represented a social issue they cared about. I donated all the screen printing and built an outdoor gallery as it was during COVID. It was well received with 400+ people out to support.
$3,650 to artists / $1,375 to Headwaters Protectors / $1,375 to BLM Festival
Screen Print with Pride Summer 2023
I partnered with the Ross Broadway branch of the Denver Public Library to create a screen printing event during Pride. I created the 2 designs, added a drag queen story time, and designed a LemonAID stand and invited the Fairmont JEDI club so they could raise funds for a cause they cared about.
$570 raised for JeffCO Eats
Mini Vacation Spring 2021
For the 2021 Denver Month of Photography I screen printed some of my souvenir images as 16x20 screen prints. Took a bit if trial and error to get the halftones just right, but worked out great. I added my logo in silver to make them official and donated 50% of opening sales to a nonprofit.
$300 to Access Gallery
ManCraft Winter 2012-2016 & Summer 2016 & 2017
A holiday market that started out on a whim with 10 guys in the studio and continued to grow each year. I even added a summer version, ManCraftival. The final event had 100 vendors and 2,000+ attendees. Whew.
100% drink sales supported nonprofits and rented nonprofit venues.
Holiday ManCraft was recognized in Westword's Best of Denver 2012 issue as Best Manly Market, and in 2014 was recognized as Best Holiday Market.
